A Tamper-Evident
Audit Trail

Most data rooms give you an activity log you simply have to trust. Waafir gives you one you can prove. Every audit event is cryptographically chained and anchored to immutable storage — so any change to the record is detectable, and provable to your auditors and regulators.

How the chain works

Event 1prev_hashrow_hashEvent 2prev_hashrow_hashEvent 3prev_hashrow_hashDaily WORMAnchorObject Lockwrite-once

Each event's hash covers the event before it, so altering, deleting, or inserting a row breaks the chain. Once a day the chain head is sealed into immutable, write-once storage that even Waafir cannot rewrite.

Cryptographic hash chain

Every audit event is hashed together with its predecessor. Any modification, deletion, or forged insertion breaks the chain — tampering is self-revealing.

Immutable external anchor

The chain head is snapshotted daily to S3 Object-Lock (WORM) storage. The application can write proofs but never delete or overwrite them.

Independently verifiable

A verifier recomputes every hash and cross-checks the live chain against the anchor. A signed export lets a third party confirm integrity without trusting our database.

GOVERNANCE

Default

Real tamper-evidence for every organisation, out of the box. Anchored proofs are immutable against every normal principal; only a sealed, audited break-glass role could ever alter them. Retained for 7 years.

COMPLIANCE

Opt-in

For hard regulatory mandates. Anchored proofs become physically immutable for the full 7-year term — for everyone, including the cloud account root. Opting in is a deliberate, irreversible one-way door.

A verifiable audit trail isn't an add-on at Waafir — it's built into every plan.

Cryptographic tamper-evidence ships with every data room. For compliance regimes that require it, the COMPLIANCE WORM anchor mode is available on request.
