Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions asked most often before getting started. For topics not covered here, the rest of this documentation goes deeper. You can also email hello@waafir.io for a direct reply.

Is the AI chatbot included?

Yes. Conversational AI and semantic document search are included in every plan at no extra charge. When you upload documents, the AI workforce indexes them so the assistant can answer questions grounded in your own material — for you and, where you allow it, for the investors you invite. More advanced agent capabilities may be introduced over time as separate modules. The core chatbot and search are always part of the product.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. The Starter and Premium plans have no long-term contracts. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your billing dashboard; the change takes effect from your next billing cycle. Plan changes do not require contacting support.

How secure is Waafir?

Security is foundational, not an add-on. Documents are encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3 and at rest with AES-256. Every request to view or download a document is checked against a granular permissions engine before any content is served, so an investor sees exactly what you granted. The secure document viewer prevents unauthorised copying, printing, and downloading of the underlying file, and digital rights management lets you restrict access further. See Sharing for how access is controlled and File versioning and auditability for the audit trail behind every action.

What kinds of files can I upload?

Waafir accepts the document types deal rooms use: PDFs, Word documents, Excel and CSV spreadsheets, and common image formats. As soon as a file finishes uploading, the AI workforce processes it automatically — organising, summarising, and indexing it for question answering — with no manual trigger.

Can investors download documents, or only view them?

You decide, per data room and per person. Access is governed by permission tiers: a viewer can read documents in the secure viewer but cannot download them, while higher tiers can download or contribute. You set the tier when inviting someone and can change or revoke it at any time. See Sharing for the full permission model.

Do investors need an account to access a data room?

Not necessarily. You can invite an investor directly or share a secure link. Depending on link configuration, an investor may simply enter their email and accept an NDA before reaching your documents, with no separate signup. For investor-facing onboarding, some organisations also require identity verification; see Identity verification (KYC/KYB).

What happens if I delete a document by accident?

Deletions are recoverable. A deleted file is soft-deleted and can be restored within a 30-day recovery window before it is permanently removed. File history is also kept automatically, so an overwrite does not lose the earlier version. See File versioning and auditability.
